The administrative headquarters of the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh is situated in Hoshangabad town. It is made up of the constituencies of Seonimalwa, Sohagpur and Pipariya. Earlier, the Hoshangabad district was a segment of the Nerbudda (Narmada) Division of the Central Provinces and Berar.
